OpenRoad Auto Group supports the BC Cancer Foundation’s annual Inspiration Gala
Without a doubt, most would agree that a world free of cancer would be a much, much better place to live.
The unfortunate fact is that so many of us have been touched by cancer. In this province alone, one in three British Columbians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
The vision of the BC Cancer Foundation is a world free of cancer. And as the largest funder of cancer research in BC and partner of the BC Cancer Agency, one of the world’s top research facilities – it appears we may be getting close.
OpenRoad Auto Group was pleased to once again support the BC Cancer Foundation’s annual Inspiration Gala as the official luxury automotive sponsor with a beautiful Rolls-Royce Dawn on display.
CTV News Anchor, Tamara Taggart tries out the Rolls-Royce Dawn.
This year’s gala welcomed 450 guests to the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver for a masquerade themed evening of philanthropy.
OpenRoad was pleased to contribute to this successful event which raised $3.05 million towards the future of cancer treatment in British Columbia. The funds will go directly towards clinician scientists to launch NETRACER – a world-class radionuclide therapy program for neuroendocrine cancers (NETs) which is a highly personalized treatment program that uses a specialized PET/CT scan and a nuclear medicine compound to target and treat NETs.
Only a handful of other countries around the world offer this imaging approach to cancer care. Until now, B.C. patients had to travel to Europe to receive this highly specialized treatment. The new NETRACER program will benefit many BC residents with a wide range of cancer types – from pancreatic and breast, to melanoma and prostate cancers.
This is GREAT news for British Columbians and OpenRoad is so pleased to be able to contribute to this very important cause which is so close to so many people hearts.
